In the broad sense, I consider web design to be the art of designing the look and feel of a website and developing the required graphics, templates, stylesheets, and HTML to display the design as a web page. For static web sites, this would include the production of every page on the site. I have designed over two dozen successful websites, many of which are on display in my portfolio. I am familiar with many diverse web design ideals, and have produced web sites for: schools, non-profit organizations, small and large businesses, video games, Internet communities, consultants, individuals, multi-cultural groups, womens groups, and those with disabilities. I generally only commit to a single design project at a time.

I consider web development to be the act of creating web pages, scripts, or applications from a given design. Typically, these are dynamic, database-driven projects that involve the use of scripting or programming languages and data sources. I consider myself: an expert with Classic ASP and VBScript, HTML, XHTML, XML, CSS, and SQL, advanced/experienced with PHP, ASP.NET 1 & 2, and JavaScript, and to have a fading, but fundamental knowledge of Java, C/C++, and Perl. Regarding data sources, I have expertise with MySQL, MS SQL Server, and MS Access.

With ten years of web design and development experience, I offer my services as a consultant in the areas listed above, as well as web standards, accessibility and usability, virtual communities, and Web 2.0 philosophies. I can assist you with understanding your needs, formulating a solution, and picking the products and technologies that will best suit your needs.

Once I understand your needs, I can provide you with an estimate for how long it will take to complete, and thus, the total cost for your project. Once I've prepared my estimate, I guarantee the final cost to plus or minus 15% of the estimate.
